SATOSHI KINOSHITA - BIOGRAPHY


A highly accomplished and experienced artist and fine art photographer, with a profound knowledge of Japanese and Australian contemporary fine art.

A Japan-born artist, Satoshi lives and works in New York City, Osaka and Sydney.

His main private collectors are in New York, London, Paris, Tokyo, Berlin, Amsterdam, Osaka and Sydney.

SUMMARY

Extensive artistic and creative background, with over 20 years experience as a mixed media artist and fine art photographer.

Diverse creative career including internationally selected exhibitions at Japanese Contemporary Fine Art Gallery of New York, Inc. (New York City), The Art Gallery of New South Wales (Sydney), National Library of Australia (Canberra), State Library of New South Wales (Sydney), Ginza NIKON Salon (Tokyo), Sydney Opera House (Southern Foyer & Exhibition Hall), KODAK Gallery (Sydney), Royal Botanic Garden (Sydney), Oscar's (Hong Kong) and more.

Exhibitions sponsored and supported by QANTAS (Australia), NIKON (Japan), KODAK (Australasia), Japan Foundation (Sydney), Australian Tourist Commission, The Consul General of Australia (Hong Kong), etc.

15 Years Retrospective Collection (over 100 photographs), "SATOSHI KINOSHITA PHOTOGRAPHS (1986 - 2001)" acquired by National Library of Australia (Canberra) in 2002.

Contributing as an expert art reviewer since 1989 for " ASAHI CAMERA" (published by the ASAHI SHIMBUN PRESS - One of the most influential daily newspapers with a circulation of over eight million).

Currently working on the book to be published in 2004/2005 by Chapter & Verse (Sydney)" SATOSHI KINOSHITA PHOTOGRAPHS - Night People (1992-2000)".

Works are displayed in two permanent private galleries on Fifth Avenue, Manhattan (N.Y.C.).

Published a photographic book " AUST.2" in 1989 (by Inter Press Corporation, Tokyo).

More than one dozen photographs were acquired by State Library of New South Wales (Sydney).

Supporting Sydney Olympic Games as a photographer (reception only) for the Consul General of Japan (Sydney) in 2000.

Special guest speaker (subject of Australian Contemporary photographers and photography) at HIGASHIKAWA-CHO INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHIC FESTIVAL, Hokkaido, Japan in 1993.

Four different Audio-Visual Slide shows with photographic lecutures at the Domain Theatre (320 capacity), the Art Gallery of New South Wales between 1993-1996.
