UNITED NETWORK COMMAND FOR LAW AND ENFORCEMENT (U.N.C.L.E.)
(The Man from U.N.C.L.E.)
c/o Mr. Alexander Waverly
East 46th Street
[between 2nd and 3rd Avenues]
New York City, NY
U.N.C.L.E. is a secret organization located a block from the East River near the United Nations. Hidden behind the facade of four brownstone buildings on the north side of the block is a modern three-story office building that houses the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement. Their chief nemesis is the sinister organization T.H.R.U.S.H. [Technological Hierarchy for the Removal and Subjugation of Humanity]. U.N.C.L.E. is divided into eight sections [with overlapping jurisdictions]. They consisted of Section 1: Policy and Operations; Section II: Operations and Enforcement; Section III: Enforcement and Intelligence; Section IV: Intelligence and Communications; Section V: Communications and Security; Section VI: Security and Personnel; Section VII: Propaganda and Finance; and Section VIII: Camouflage and Deception. Section I is headed by five top executives who meet once a year. The known officers included Mr. Alexander Waverly in the New York regional office, Gaghail Samoy, of the New Delhi regional office; Harry Beldon, from the European operations [who turned traitor] and possibly Carlo Farenti. Section II is run by top field agents including Napoleon Solo, the chief agent in New York; and Brian Morton, based in London. Other field agents included Illya Nickovetch Kuryakin, April Dancer and Mark Slate, recently transferred from the London office.
